Lady Ibiam Girls' Secondary School End of Term Newsletter

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

 

As we conclude 2025, we celebrate the achievements, growth, and resilience of our students. Lady Ibiam Girls’ Secondary School continues to shine as a beacon of excellence in education. We thank God Almighty for seeing us through.

Term Highlights

 Academic Excellence: There have been notable improvements in our teaching methods. Our students excelled in various subjects, with notable performances in sciences, arts, and humanities.

 Internal examination results will be released on December 19th, 2025.

Extracurricular Activities: Our clubs and societies thrived, including drama, music, debate, leadership, teamwork, baking, culinary arts, and farming.

Vacation and Next Term Dates

We are vacating on 15th December 2025, the results will be ready and released on 19th December 2025 .

The second term will commence on 12th January 2026, depending on any announcements from the state government. Parents will be informed of any changes to these dates.

Appreciation and Reminder on School Fees

We want to express our sincere appreciation to all parents/guardians for their continued support towards their children’s education. For the next term, parents are encouraged to make timely payments of school fees to facilitate smooth academic activities. The school fees for the 2026 academic session are as follows:

There will be a series of practicals on Dying and Bleaching and Food and Nutrition for senior classes.  Parents should take note.

Payment Instructions: Parents are kindly requested not to make any payments to individual accounts or to any school staff. All payments should be made to the official school account number provided.

Contraband Goods: Students are strictly prohibited from bringing phones or other contraband items to school. If a phone is seized, the school will retain it until the end of the academic session.

Textbooks and Other Requirements

Parents of exam classes are particularly reminded to ensure their children have their textbooks and recommended novels. A list of required textbooks will be provided.

 

 Students are expected to return with all necessary requirements on the resumption date.

Please note that the following items are expected from students upon their return:

Boarders: One ESWAMA bag, one big broom, one detergent (900g), one big-size toilet roll and one long note

 Day Students: One big broom, one dustpan, one toilet roll and a long note

Dress Code Reminder: All students are expected to adhere to the school’s dress code.

Guidelines for Students’ Hairstyles: As part of our school’s efforts to maintain a neat, tidy, and distraction-free learning environment, we have established guidelines for students’ hairstyles.. These guidelines are designed to promote a sense of discipline, equality, and focus on academic pursuits.

  1. Hairstyle: Students are required to keep their hair styled in a simple and neat manner.
  2. No Attachments or Extensions: Students are not allowed to have any attachments or extensions in their hair.
  3. Hair Length and Style: – Students with longer hair should style it all back not less than TEN not more than TWENTY. Students with shorter hair should maintain a low cut.
  4. No Dying or Coloring: Students are not permitted to dye or color their hair.

These guidelines apply to all students and are intended to ensure a uniform and respectful appearance that reflects positively on our school community.

 NOTE A neat and simple hair style promotes a sense of discipline and professionalism. These guidelines help minimize distinctions based on hair styles and promote a sense of unity among students. And simple hair style reduces distractions and allows students to focus on their studies.
